FOCUS: UNITED KINGDOM

TOPIC: UK INCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE PRACTICE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES

October 20, 2025 / Free admission / Tickets available for download

The UK consists of four home nations: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Four very different regions, each with unique contexts and challenges, each supported by different regional governmental arts funding. But one thing that unites performing arts companies across the UK, as well is in close neighbour the Republic of Ireland, is a deep desire to ensure performance for young audiences is inclusive for all children and young people, including those with disabilities and/or additional support needs.

This FOCUS will introduce a selection of performance companies making inclusive performance work for young audiences from different regions of the UK, and will explore why inclusive performance work is so important to them, and share their knowledge and experience of inclusive performance practice.
